Jungle Hut is a family-run resort situated in the picturesque foothills of the Nilgiri Hills, adjacent to the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve. Established in 1986 by Joe and Hermie Mathias, it transitioned from a homestay into a cozy resort renowned for its sustainable practices and commitment to the environment. The resort is enveloped by rich biodiversity, offering guests proximity to a variety of wildlife including the Bengal Tiger and Asian Elephants. It provides an immersive experience with no televisions or telephones in the rooms, fostering a tranquil atmosphere for guests to reconnect with nature.

Location

The resort is conveniently located 95 km from Mysore and 20 km from Bandipur Tiger Reserve, making it easily accessible for travelers. It is situated near several attractions, including tea plantations and the Elephant Camp, where guests can witness up to 30 trained elephants. Nestled within a thicket of woods, the ambiance of the resort is enriched by deer and various birdlife grazing freely on the premises.
